TRAVEL BY TRAIN
Oldham is a quick jaunt from Fox Owl Rise. It offers a railway
that can take you almost anywhere in Greater Manchester,
with connections made at Manchester Piccadilly. The city
itself is reachable in under 40 minutes, with further Metro
Link transfers taking you to Altrincham and Bury (32 minutes)
amongst other destinations.
COACH & BUS JOURNEYS
A direct service – the 180 – will bring you through the upper
strip of the county, until you arrive at Piccadilly Gardens.
Regular buses pass between Oldham and Lees on the 418
circuit, looping around all of the major stops. For coaches,
you have three services to pick from: K Matt, Yelloway, and
Healings International.

Heading north? The A62 leads to the M62 motorway, which
weaves up to Leeds, Halifax and Huddersfield. Alternatively,
you can follow the A627 past Ashton-under-Lyne, in lieu of
a visit to the Peak District via the A635 (just a 13-minute drive).

There’s much to savour during your free time. Pools, parks and
a cricket club will entertain those hoping to unwind. Several
historic landmarks, such as Chatsworth House, make for a great
family day out. Oldham offers several live music venues – chief
of which is Whittles, famed for its acoustic sessions.
