Cat Lego, a small clothing and bag manufacturer that
uses blanket synthetics to produce unique items, is slowly
penetrating the market and hopes to soon expand its
business through the guidance of founder and owner,
Katlego Tseka.
tell us about your company and your role in it?
I run a small clothing manufacturing company called Cat
Lego,which I established in 2017 and registered this year.
Cat Lego manufactures clothes and bags. The company also
plans to offer sewing classes on weekends.
what makes your line of business unique from others?
I take pride in my work to ensure that I deliver quality
products on time. In addition, my work stands out from the
rest as I sometimes use synthetic fabrics that are commonly
used for making blankets to make my clothes.
what is the biggest mistake one can make in business?
Starting a business without having done some research first
is one of the biggest mistakes people make. Also, having
an unreliable business partner can be detrimental to
your business.
what challenges did you face when starting out and how
is it now?
I encountered various challenges with broken sewing
machines and limited capital to fix them. Having to fix my

machines time and again made the business run slower than
it should have, which was quite a challenge.
what’s your strategy for getting and keeping
profitable customers?
I identify and focus on my customers’ problems first to ensure
that they are always happy. I then focus on providing the
best possible service and products to make sure that my
customers come back for more. I also ask my customers
about their needs or difficulties they may have and then
learn how I can help them resolve these. I also make sure
that my costs are under control so that I do not find myself
with over-expenditures.
what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
I would advise them to be passionate about whatever
business they want to do. This makes it a lot easier to run
the business because when you do what you love you put
everything into making sure it succeeds. Conducting research
about the type of business you wish to embark on is very
important as well.
