The promoted Clubs will be placed in a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically appropriate
division at Step 3 for the following Playing Season.
Step 4 and Step 5
The Clubs 昀椀nishing in the bo琀琀om two places in each of the eight divisions at Step 4 at the end of the
Regular Season will be relegated and placed in a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically
appropriate division at Step 5 for the following Playing Season. The Clubs 昀椀nishing in third and fourth
from bo琀琀om in each of the eight divisions at Step 4 at the end of the Regular Season will take part in
Inter-Step Play-O昀昀 Matches against the Clubs 昀椀nishing in 2nd posi琀椀on in each of the sixteen divisions
at Step 5 to determine whether they remain at Step 4 or are relegated to Step 5 for the following
Playing Season.
Clubs relegated for 昀椀nishing bo琀琀om and second from bo琀琀om in each of the eight divisions at Step 4
will be replaced by the Clubs 昀椀nishing in 1st posi琀椀on in each of the sixteen divisions at Step 5. The
Clubs 昀椀nishing in 2nd posi琀椀on in each of the sixteen divisions at Step 5 will take part in Inter-Step Play
O昀昀 Matches against the Clubs 昀椀nishing in third and fourth from bo琀琀om in each of the eight divisions at
Step 4 to determine whether they remain at Step 5 or are promoted to Step 4 for the following Playing
Season. Where a Club 昀椀nishes in 1st posi琀椀on but does not meet the minimum criteria for promo琀椀on
to the next Step, the Club 昀椀nishing in 2nd posi琀椀on shall be promoted and the Club 昀椀nishing in 3rd
posi琀椀on (and so on) shall be the Club in the next eligible posi琀椀on to take part in the Inter-Step Play O昀昀
Matches. Where a Club 昀椀nishes in an Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Posi琀椀on but does not meet the Criteria for
par琀椀cipa琀椀on in Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Matches, the Club 昀椀nishing in the next eligible posi琀椀on shall take
part in the Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Matches. Clubs 昀椀nishing below 4th posi琀椀on will not be eligible to take
part in Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Matches.
Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Matches:
Each Club at Step 4 which 昀椀nishes the Regular Season in an Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Posi琀椀on will be
drawn at home against a Club from Step 5 which 昀椀nishes the Regular Season in an Inter-Step Play O昀昀
Posi琀椀on. The condi琀椀ons of Inter-Step Play O昀昀 Matches (such as the criteria of how 琀椀es are drawn,
associated 昀椀nancial ma琀琀ers, extra 琀椀me, and player eligibility) will be con昀椀rmed by the Commi琀琀ee from
琀椀me to 琀椀me. Ties will be a one-o昀昀 match with the winner being allocated to Step 4 for the following
Playing Season and the defeated Club being allocated to Step 5 for the following Playing Season.
The Clubs allocated to Step 4 will be placed in a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically
appropriate division at Step 4 for the following Playing Season. In addi琀椀on, a Club allocated to Step 4
shall comply with the Licencing System provision as set out in Appendix 1 to the Standardised Rules.
Step 5 and Step 6
The Clubs in the bo琀琀om two places in each of the sixteen divisions at Step 5 at the end of the Regular
Season will be relegated and placed a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically appropriate
division at Step 6 for the following Playing Season.
These Clubs will be replaced by (i) the Clubs 昀椀nishing in 1st posi琀椀on at the end of the Regular Season
in each of the two divisions operated by the South West Peninsula League; (ii) the Clubs 昀椀nishing in
1st posi琀椀on at the end of the Regular Season in each of the remaining 昀椀昀琀een divisions at Step 6; and
(iii) a further 昀椀昀琀een Clubs determined by a series of Play O昀昀 Matches within those remaining 昀椀昀琀een
divisions (i.e. not including the two divisions operated by the South West Peninsula League). Where
a Club 昀椀nishes in 1st posi琀椀on but does not meet the criteria for promo琀椀on to the next Step, the Club
昀椀nishing in 2nd posi琀椀on shall be promoted and the Club 昀椀nishing in 3rd posi琀椀on (and so on) shall
be the Club in the next eligible posi琀椀on to take part in the Play O昀昀 Matches. Where a Club 昀椀nishes
in a Play O昀昀 Posi琀椀on but does not meet the Criteria for par琀椀cipa琀椀on in Play O昀昀 Matches, the Club
昀椀nishing in the next eligible posi琀椀on shall take part in the Play O昀昀 Matches. In each division at Step 6,
the Play O昀昀 Matches shall be played so that the highest placed of the eligible Clubs plays against the
lowest placed and the other two Clubs play each other. The 琀椀es will be played on a single match basis
with the home Club being the Club with the best points per game ra琀椀o in the Regular Season. If there
are only three eligible Clubs then the highest placed shall receive a bye to the second match where it
will play the winner of the other Play O昀昀 Match and the winner of that match will be promoted. Clubs
昀椀nishing below 7th posi琀椀on will not be eligible to take part in Play O昀昀 Matches.
The promoted Clubs will be placed in a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically appropriate
division at Step 5 for the following Playing Season.
Step 6 and relega琀椀on
At the end of the Regular Season the Clubs in the bo琀琀om three posi琀椀ons of each of the seventeen
Step 6 divisions will be liable to relega琀椀on. The 昀椀nal number of Clubs to be relegated will be con昀椀rmed
once promo琀椀on candidates from Feeder Leagues and any vacancies are known. If reprieves are
required the Clubs third from bo琀琀om will be ranked on a points per match basis (then goal di昀昀erence,
then goals scored if required) - the Club(s) with the best points per match will be reprieved. If all third
from bo琀琀om Clubs are reprieved, and a further reprieve(s) is required, the same process will apply for
Clubs in second from bo琀琀om (and so on).
