08 Standardised Rules
7.7 The colours of clothing worn by ballboys/girls must not clash with the colours of either compe琀椀ng
Club and the Match O昀케cials.
8. PLAYING OF MATCHES
ARRANGEMENT OF FIXTURES
8.1 The Board shall 昀椀x the date on which the Playing Season shall commence.
8.2 All matches shall be played under the Rules and Regula琀椀ons of The FA and in accordance with the
Laws of the Game as determined by the Interna琀椀onal Football Associa琀椀on Board.
8.3 All Compe琀椀琀椀on matches shall be arranged as soon as prac琀椀cable. The copyright in all lists of
arrangements of such 昀椀xtures shall be vested in the Company.
8.4 All matches shall be played on the home and away principle and the Board shall determine how the
昀椀xtures shall be arranged.
Steps 1 to 4 only
Saturday 昀椀xtures in the Compe琀椀琀椀on shall take precedence over all other compe琀椀琀椀ons in which a Club
may engage with the excep琀椀on of:
• The FA Challenge Cup/Welsh Cup
• The FA Challenge Trophy Compe琀椀琀椀on
Scheduled Saturday 昀椀xtures in the Compe琀椀琀椀on must not be re-arranged without permission of the
Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary. Clubs may be ordered to re-arrange outstanding matches, at the discre琀椀on of
the Board, and where necessary their prospec琀椀ve opponents instructed accordingly. Clubs with open
dates on Saturdays may be instructed to play any outstanding Compe琀椀琀椀on 昀椀xture on such date. A
minimum of 6 days’ no琀椀ce will be given in respect of any such re-arrangement.
Steps 2 to 4 only
Midweek 昀椀xtures in the Compe琀椀琀椀on shall not take precedence over 昀椀xtures in the Nominated Cup
Compe琀椀琀椀on of the A昀케liated Associa琀椀on to which it was 昀椀rst a昀케liated.
Scheduled Saturday 昀椀xtures in the Compe琀椀琀椀on must not be re-arranged without permission of the
Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary. Clubs may be ordered to re-arrange outstanding matches, at the discre琀椀on of

dates on Saturdays may be instructed to play any outstanding Compe琀椀琀椀on 昀椀xture on such date. A

8.5 In the event of any Club being required to play an FA Cup or FA Trophy match within 48 hours of a
scheduled Compe琀椀琀椀on 昀椀xture it shall have the right to apply in wri琀椀ng as soon as prac琀椀cally possible
(but in any event no later than 48 hours a昀琀er becoming aware of the relevant Cup 昀椀xture) to have
its Compe琀椀琀椀on 昀椀xture postponed with or without the consent of its opponent. At the same 琀椀me as
it makes the applica琀椀on a copy shall be sent to its opponent who shall raise any objec琀椀on within a
further 24 hours of no琀椀昀椀ca琀椀on. Therea昀琀er the Compe琀椀琀椀on shall decide in its absolute discre琀椀on as
soon as reasonably possible as to whether or not the applica琀椀on is approved.
8.6 The standard kick-o昀昀 琀椀mes shall be as follows:
Saturday matches - 3.00 pm
Midweek matches - 7.45 pm
All agreed changes to 琀椀me of kick-o昀昀 to be no琀椀昀椀ed to the Board immediately for con昀椀rma琀椀on.
Clubs with ground sharing agreements must arrange for home matches to be played on Friday,
Saturday or Sunday. If a clash of 昀椀xtures occurs with the sharing Club and for any reason a match is
unable to be played on a Saturday, the match must be played on either the day before i.e. on Friday,
or the day a昀琀er i.e. on Sunday. If Clubs are unable to agree on the date then it will be played on the
Sunday unless the Board decides otherwise. The decision of the Board shall be 昀椀nal and binding.
O昀케cial bank holidays and Sundays - unless agreed otherwise by the two Clubs and the Board;
applica琀椀on shall be made to the Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary by both Clubs at least 21 days before the
relevant date.
To re-schedule a midweek 昀椀xture for an evening other than a Club’s usual midweek night will require
wri琀琀en agreement of both Clubs and the Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary.
The Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary reserves the right to amend scheduled 昀椀xtures and kick-o昀昀 琀椀mes to meet
television requirements as necessary. No琀椀昀椀ca琀椀on will be provided by the Compe琀椀琀椀on Secretary in
wri琀椀ng to both Clubs for 昀椀xtures so rescheduled.
8.7 The Board may change any Compe琀椀琀椀on 昀椀xtures during the season to suit the overall interests of the
