3. MEMBERS
Members shall be only such Clubs, or in the case of unincorporated associa琀椀ons the duly appointed
nominees of such Clubs, which are in membership of the Compe琀椀琀椀on for the 琀椀me being in accordance
with the Rules. The names of Clubs in the Compe琀椀琀椀on will be determined by the Management
Commi琀琀ee.
3.1
3.2 The provisions of sec琀椀on 352 of the Act shall be observed by the Company.
3.2.1 Every Club which is a corpora琀椀on or body corporate and which signs and submits a membership
applica琀椀on form shall be deemed to become a member on its name being entered in the register of
members together with par琀椀culars required by Sec琀椀on 352 of the Act.
3.2.2 Every Club which is an unincorporated associa琀椀on shall be obliged to nominate an individual as its
nominee. Each nominee shall act in all respects in accordance with the direc琀椀ons of the Club which has
appointed him.
3.2.3 Every Club which is an unincorporated associa琀椀on shall be en琀椀tled to submit a membership applica琀椀on
form with such modi昀椀ca琀椀ons as the Management Commi琀琀ee shall require. The appointed nominee shall
be deemed to become a member on his name being entered in the register of members.
3.2.4 Every Club which is an unincorporated associa琀椀on shall be en琀椀tled at any 琀椀me and from 琀椀me to 琀椀me
upon no琀椀ce in wri琀椀ng to the Company to require the dele琀椀on of the name of its appointed nominee for
the 琀椀me being and the subs琀椀tu琀椀on therefor of the name of another nominee to act on its behalf. Any
such altera琀椀on in the name of the appointed nominee shall not a昀昀ect the rights, privileges and obliga琀椀ons
of any such Club in rela琀椀on to membership of the Company.
3.3 Any Club wishing to transfer its membership must obtain the prior approval of the Company and the
Football Associa琀椀on, and comply with the provisions of the Rules regarding the transfer of membership.
Transfers of membership include:
(i) Incorpora琀椀on of a members’ club;
(ii) Transfer of engagements from one limited company to another;
(iii) Asset purchase by a new corpora琀椀on from a club in administra琀椀on;
(iv) Transfer from one members’ club to another.
3.4. Any Club, or in the case of an unincorporated associa琀椀on the duly appointed nominee of any Club, which
is a member of the Company by virtue of the Club in ques琀椀on being in membership of the Compe琀椀琀椀on
shall automa琀椀cally cease to be a member of the Company on the Club in ques琀椀on ceasing to be in
membership of the Compe琀椀琀椀on and in such circumstances the name of such Club (in the case of a
corpora琀椀on or body corporate) or the name of such Club’s duly appointed nominee (in the case of an
unincorporated associa琀椀on) shall be removed from the register of members forthwith.
4. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM
Every Club shall deliver to the Company an applica琀椀on for membership of the Company in the form in
force at the relevant 琀椀me or in such other form as the Commi琀琀ee Members may require, which shall
be signed (in the case of a Club) for and on behalf of the Club by two of its directors (in the case of
companies) or o昀케cers (in the case of unincorporated associa琀椀ons).
The membership applica琀椀on form when completed and signed shall be deposited with the Company
Secretary at the Company Secretary’s address shown on the form.
5 RESIGNATION AND REMOVAL OF A MEMBER
5.1 Any Club may resign from membership of the Company at the end of a playing season of the Compe琀椀琀椀on
and prior to the annual general mee琀椀ng next following the end of such playing season provided it has
no琀椀昀椀ed the League General Manager of its decision to so resign on or before 31st December in that
season. This rule shall not operate so as to preclude promo琀椀on or relega琀椀on of any Club to another
Compe琀椀琀椀on.
5.2 The members in general mee琀椀ng by a resolu琀椀on passed by a three quarters’ majority of those present and
vo琀椀ng may, on the recommenda琀椀on of the Directors, expel a member from the League. The Directors
may suspend such a member from the League pending the general mee琀椀ng. The no琀椀ce convening the
mee琀椀ng shall specify the ma琀琀er to be discussed. The member facing expulsion shall be en琀椀tled if present
at that mee琀椀ng to present a statement in defence of that expulsion either verbally or in wri琀椀ng. If the vote
is carried by the required majority, the member shall be erased from the League’s register of members.
