2021 MEET SUMMARIES
Meet 6 - vs. Oregon State (Feb. 27)
Meet 9 - at Pac-12 Championships (Mar. 20)
UCLA recorded its second-straight 197 score on Feb. 27 in a 197.025-196.500 victory over
Oregon State. Fittingly, during the Bruins’ Black Excellence Meet, Margzetta Frazier shined, winning
the all-around with a career-high-tying 39.550. She and Nia Dennis tied for first place on uneven
bars with career-best marks of 9.950. Chae Campbell won floor exercise for the second-straight
meet, scoring 9.925. The Bruins recorded season-high team totals on vault (49.225) and uneven
bars (49.550).
UCLA posted season-highs on floor exercise (49.525) and vault (49.425) in the first two rotations
at the Pac-12 Championships but had to count a fall on balance beam in the final rotation, dropping them out of contention and into third place. The Bruins had strong individual performances,
winning four event titles. Sekai Wright stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 for a career-high 9.95 to earn
the vault crown. Margzetta Frazier’s third 9.950 of the season on uneven bars tied her for first
place. Chae Campbell and Pauline Tratz each scored career-highs of 9.950 on floor exercise to
finish as co-champions.

with clutch routines. Norah Flatley’s return to the balance beam lineup helped stabilize the rotation,
as her 9.875 led the Bruins to a 49.175 total and the lead at the halfway point. UCLA scored
49.400 on vault in the final rotation, thanks to three scores of 9.9 or higher.

UCLA earned a season-high 197.275, but it was not enough to qualify to the NCAA Gymnastics
Championships, as the Bruins finished third at the Regional Final behind Michigan (198.100) and
California (197.750). UCLA started the meet with a 49.425 on floor, which tied Cal for second
place but lost a tenth to the Bears in rotation two after scoring 49.350 on vault. The Bruins added
a 49.375 on bars in rotation three but fell further behind when Cal scored 49.500 on floor. UCLA
faced adversity in the final rotation with a leadoff fall but came through with five consecutive hit
routines. Three Bruins qualified to the NCAA Championships as individuals - Chae Campbell in
the all-around, Nia Dennis on vault and Margzetta Frazier on bars.
