Baboon Banter
These majestic Baboon Vessels were created by Sotho
sculptor Moshe Sello on elegantly shaped tall vases thrown
by Zimbabwean master thrower Lovemore Sithole.
Mthulisi Ncube, inspired by a sprightly and dynamic
troop of busy baboons has echoed their animated forms
in his painted aloes that have the same vigorous,
writhing energy.
Mthulisi has chosen a muted palette of grey, soft pink,
brown, blue and a touch of burnt orange on the rim
of the vessels creating a magnificent pair of tall vessels.
