Very few places in the world can
match tropical North Queensland
for unspoiled natural beauty. Port
Douglas is the only place in the
world where two World Heritage
listed areas meet - the Great Barrier
Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.
GREAT BARRIER REEF
At 2,300 kilometres in length, the Great
Barrier Reef is larger than the Great Wall
of China and the only living thing on Earth
visible from space. The array of coral
gardens and countless species of fish,
turtles, rays, sea horses and giant clams
will leave you amazed.
REEF TOURS
A range of reef charters, dive trips and
snorkelling tours allow you to see the
wonder of the reef first hand. Some can
take you to the most renowned spots,
while others will moor and allow you to
explore at your own pace. For a unique
perspective, try a glass-bottomed boat or
take a scenic helicopter flight!

DAINTREE RAINFOREST
The World Heritage Listed Daintree
Rainforest is more than 1,200 square
kilometres in size and considered one
of the oldest rainforests in Australia.
The rainforest is carefully managed to
maintain its wildness and unpredictability.
Tours of the forest are recommended,
and the best are conducted under the
leadership of people with long-term
knowledge of the habitat.
SKYRAIL RAINFOREST CABLEWAY
Experience the tropical rainforest from
the air through the Skyrail Rainforest
Cableway, which runs between Cairns
and Kuranda. The trip takes you just
metres above the pristine forest’s canopy
before bringing you down to examine the
forest floor.
