How to use this book
It’s important for me that you understand why I recommend this particular
combination of food, exercise and mental comfort. The book’s first chapters
will therefore give you a thorough explanation, followed by a set of tools
to change your habits. My goal is to get you to a point where you feel safe
with your choices and strong by taking responsibility for yourself and your
health. How do you eat a proverbial elephant? One proverbial bite at a time!
That’s how I suggest you approach this book: One step at a time. Use your
life, your everyday life and your present habits, read the book and then
choose a couple of habits you find it manageable to change.
Could you for instance start by drinking more water during the day and
stretch your body when you wake up? Eat less sugar or go to bed earlier?
Our brain loves habits and hates change. But when we change our habits a
little at a time, we can trick our brain to believe everything is the same. This
way you make it easier for yourself.
Kick-start your health
At the end of each chapter, I will give you three suggestions for how to change
your habits: An ultra-simple suggestion for those days or weeks where you
are busy and perhaps tempted to postpone the project, and a couple of
slightly more demanding suggestions for periods where you have more time.
Feel free to pick and mix from different chapters. When you work on several
levels simultaneously, the results will come faster.
When one new habit has become a matter of course, then return to the
book and find inspiration for another habit. It’s simple – and it works.
If you have the time and energy, I suggest you start your alkaline lifestyle with the 7-day kick-start in chapter 10. This way you’ll jump-start the
acid cleansing and make body, mind and taste buds accustomed to your
new, healthy style.
In the kick-start week, you’ll experience how little it takes for you to sleep
better and feel light and comfortable in your body. So when the hustle-bustle
of daily life confronts you and makes ye olde acidic habits attempt a comeback, you’ll find they simply don’t stand a chance.
Enjoy!
