PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
To be elected as President for
2024/2025 is a personal privilege
and honour to which I promise to
fulfil with enthusiasm and energy.
Playing and being involved with
the sport for over 40 years, I
have experienced first hand
the highs and lows, the
winning and the losing, along
with the rapport and friendship
that bowls so uniquely can
provide.
It has been a pleasure sharing
the previous two years with past
President’s Steve Boughton and
Carol Eichen, they have set a fine
example.
I now look forward to working with
senior-vice Jeremy Baker-Deam in the
coming season as we visit as many clubs as possible to join in their
anniversary celebrations.
I am grateful to all the EIBA staff, especially Peter Thompson and Carl
Higgins for their guidance, and I thank Mark Cohen (President BIIBC)
for his encouragement and support. Thanks also to my home club
Falcon, who successfully held the BIIBC International Series and
Championships in March 2024.
What would we do without the umpires, markers, EIBA board members,
committee members and volunteers in all clubs throughout the country,
who give up their time so freely, and to our loyal sponsors.
I will positively showcase the sport of bowls and promote participation
by all, particularly younger people, by encouraging parents,
grandparents, schools and local associations to get them involved.
To Colin, my husband who calmly takes it in his stride - 'It's Pauline's
hobby’ – thank you for holding the fort!
