Holding ourselves
accountable – an ethical
business
Governance
Our business was founded to
create the very best natural paint
and to inspire other businesses to
do the same. We haven’t had to
retrofit our products – we designed
them to be low impact from the
start.
But it’s becoming increasingly clear
that ‘eco-products’ aren’t enough.
To save the living planet, our world
and home, the way we do business
has to change too, so that business
practice becomes regenerative.
So, we aim to change the way we
run Edward Bulmer Natural Paint.
We are going to hold ourselves
accountable not just for profit and
our financial shareholders but to
all of our stakeholders. To the earth
and to people too – as well as all
the living creatures we share it
with.
for them to hold us accountable for
our impact - as accountable as we
are to making a profit.
We will hold our purpose at the
heart of all we do - to guide us in
every action and business decision
we take.
This is not radical (think of
Patagonia or look at our
neighbours Riversimple) but
it is business not as usual and
we haven’t got it all worked
out yet, but we have made the
commitment and are able to do
so as ours is still a wholly owned
family business.
To us, nothing matters more than
doing our very best to turn things
around and be part of creating a
world that offers a healthier future
for our children and grandchildren.
We want to put planet and people
representatives on our Board and
