“Sustainable development is
development that meets the
needs of the present without
compromising the ability of
future generations to meet their
own needs”
- Bruntland Report, United Nations, 1987
As long as our triple bottom line
accounting shows us in deficit,
we will have to take action to
mitigate and then eradicate our
negative impacts.
Our goal, however, is to move
past neutrality and onto making
a progressively positive impact,
while recognising that we will
still be part of a consumption
economy.
The Gold Standard Carbon
Initiative –was formed by WWF
and other International NGOs
to UN guidelines to ensure
that there were carbon offset
programmes available that not
only delivered the highest level
of environmental integrity, but
that met the UN’s Sustainable
Development Goals for people
being the worst affected by
global warming.
To begin with we are offsetting
our emissions with The Gold
Standard Carbon Initiative in
properly monitored projects
around the globe.
