Local Business
Where we can, we make local sourcing decisions, for instance our
couriers APC in Hereford, despite their not having a robust enough
sustainability strategy.
In looking into this we found an alternative company DPD who
offset emissions and are investing in an electric fleet but we found
out that our consigments were split, so a consignment of 6 parcels
might be delivered from 6 different vans, we questioned whether
this was indeed the more sustainable courier? So we now use
DPD’s carbon neutral service just for 2.5L and 1L orders which are
single deliveries.
We have remained with APC for other deliveries, while urging
them to make improvements in their sustainability objectives and
undertaking to offset the courier carbon emissions ourselves.
Well-being
Ultimately we are about human well-being. We aim to improve
the conditions on the planet for all humans by reducing the
inappropriate use of plastic and fossil fuels.
Our customers decorate their everyday living spaces with our paint
and it is crucial to us to know that it is not responsible for harmful
VOCs or for problems that lead to poor air quality.
We cater for the well-being of the local community through social
engagement, public access and local charitable giving.
The well-being of our workforce is a constant driver, not least
because a happy workforce is a productive workforce! In short, we
believe that the closer the relationships with all we work with the
better we can work together and the better we all do out of it.
