Saying NO to BIG OIL
Nowadays most
mainstream paint is made
from acrylic which is plastic
made from oil and gas;
it is these fossil fuels
which are the number one
cause of climate change.
There is no need to use
plastic to make paint fit
for the 21st century.
Plastic is used to make
paint because it is cheap,
without consideration
for what it is costing
the planet.
Plants used to make
natural paint are easy to
grow, powered by nature
and represent true value
over mere cost.
The cost of our dependence
on oil is felt well beyond our
energy bills. It drives conflict
and pollutes air and water;
as well as being hugely
expensive and difficult
to extract and transport
across the globe.
Use alternative sources
of energy to make paint.
Modern paint manufacturing
is deeply carbon intensive and
uses an arsenal of chemicals.
Pioneering, gentle chemistry
makes paint from plants
and naturally occurring
raw materials.
