What's happening
55 million litres of leftover paint
is generated annually in the UK.
Most of it finds its way into the
domestic waste stream in landfill,
or in a few cases gets seperated
out and incinerated as hazardous
waste, all at considerable cost
both £'s and to the planet.
Paint is a waste problem in the UK,
only 2% of paint is recycled and the
Royal Society of Chemistry estimates
that 50 million tins are stashed in
UK households, enough to coat
the Forth Road Bridge 212 times!
Paint manufacturing is water
intensive and produces large
quantities of wastewater with high
chemical content, plus suspended
solids and even heavy metals that
cause enormous environmental
damage when poured into the
living planet without controls.
What we could do about it
We make paint to order
and because natural paint has
such good coverage you need
less of it in the first place.
We avoid petro chemicals and
so we don’t create toxic waste.
We never take from nature what
cannot be given back. Our paint
is 100% vegan and cruelty free.
We are championing a
Circular Economy with a closed
loop system in which waste
does not exist, it’s just food for
the next cycle in nature.
We are setting up a scheme to take
back leftover paint and packaging
for recycling to launch in 2023.
A throw-away society is reducing
the earth’s resources which future
generations will need to survive.
Biodiversity collapse now
threatens to wipe out much-loved
species and eco-systems.
