IMPACT
EXTENDING EDEN9S COMMUNITY OF LEARNING AND
FAITH THROUGH SPACE AND TIME (FALL 2023)
The space feels new. Online and on campus
learners meet together at the same time.
Students in St. Louis, Illinois, California,
Massachusetts, and Alaska greet each other.
At Eden, we are breakingthrough barriers of
space and time to make theological education
more accessible for more people in more
places.
And yet, the space is comfortably familiar. It
is a confidence produced by practice to meet
goals of centering digital learners in a blended classroom for an equitable education
and formation experience. These students wonder about the same things
enteringstudents spanning many generations consider. Who will become their friends?
Dialogue partners? Who will challenge them in their own new directions?
As the academic year began, a panel of Eden alumni assembled to orient the entering
class.
Aaron leaned forward. In that moment the room embodied that beloved community.
