2. Climate action framework phases of delivery
East Suffolk Council has been responding to the climate emergency since it was established, building on action delivered by its
predecessor authorities, Suffolk Coastal & Waveney District Councils.
The first phase of this framework began with a climate emergency declaration made in 2019 and the environment being established
as a key pillar of the East Suffolk Council Strategic Plan.
This framework is designed to be delivered in four phases, ending with East Suffolk Council's corporate emissions and Suffolk as a
whole achieving net zero in 2030.
At the end of each phase the framework will be reviewed and revised as required. In between these milestones, the framework will
be updated on a quarterly basis.
