River restoration with volunteers on the lark
CHALK TO SEA
The River Lark is a heavily modi昀椀ed chalk stream
in Su昀昀olk with some canalised sec}ons that have
signi昀椀cant now and sediment pressures.
Working with:
River Lark Catchment
Partnership (RLCP)
Brecks Fen Edge and
Rivers Project (BFER)
Work undertaken by volunteers in 2022/23 was
designed to trap excess sediment in the margins,
reduce channel widths and improve diversity of
habitats. RLCP have introduced a growing
number of river volunteers.
EA Lead:
Robert Clapham
The EA have also used the funding to develop
landscape-scale river restora}on projects which
it is hoped will be delivered in partnership in
future years.
