Colic Surgery - Expecting The Unexpected
COLIC SURGERY –
EXPECTING THE UNEXPECTED
Pending Approval by VCI
This course will cover all aspects of surgical colic, from admission, and work up through to the preparation
for surgery, equipment required and theatre set up.
When it comes to cases of equine colic, the veterinary team are presented with
both a diagnostic challenge and a potential emergency. Being well prepared as
a team, will allow for safe and e昀케cient diagnosis and treatment, which in turn
will allow for the best outcome for the patient, and all involved. Although most
colic cases will resolve with medical treatment, many will be referred for an
exploratory laparotomy.
In this webinar, we will focus on the emergency and surgical nursing aspects to
diagnosing and treating an emergency surgical colic.
You do not have to attend the LIVE webinar as it will be recorded and accessible via your
personal learning pro昀椀le but you do need to register beforehand in order to avail of the 1
CVE credit and access your VCI Approved Certi昀椀cate of Completion.
