FROM THE EDITOR
Writing these words feels quite surreal…
This is the realisation of a long-term goal I’ve had. Several years ago I wanted to create
something like this: a space where stories about cars and the people who love them come
together. Now, thanks to the belief and support of Craig, our Managing Director at Bridge Classic
Cars, and Nick (who has been responsible for making this magazine look so good), this goal has
finally turned into something real. I’m extremely excited to share the first phase of my vision with
you and connect with an audience that extends far beyond our workshop doors.
Driver is for anyone who’s ever felt even the slightest hint of curiosity about the world of
motoring. Whether you’re an avid collector, an admirer of design and engineering, or someone
who simply appreciates the beauty and story of your car, this is your space. And if you’re new to it
all, we want to be the bridge (no pun intended) that welcomes you into this world.
Cars have an incredible way of bringing people together. They start conversations, inspire
friendships, and connect us to a part of history. For many of us, a car isn’t just a mode of
transport, it’s a memory-maker, and sometimes even a part of the family. It’s not just about
horsepower or performance, it’s about the stories, the adventures, and the emotions they evoke.
That’s the spirit I want to capture in Driver.
For me, this journey began later in life than it does for many others. I didn’t grow up tinkering
under the bonnet or attending car shows with family. My introduction to the automotive world
came later, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But when I stumbled into this
community, I found a shared passion that was welcoming, creative, and deeply inspiring. I fell in
love with it all: the history, the craftsmanship, the people, and, most importantly, the stories
behind every car.
That passion now lives in two forms: my MGB GT, a car that represents the accessibility of classic
motoring, and this magazine, which serves as a platform to celebrate everything that makes this
industry so special. Whether it’s the restoration of a classic car, automotive news, or innovation
shaping the future of motoring, I want to explore it all.
This first issue is all about beginnings. You’ll meet the talented team behind Bridge Classic Cars
and Driver magazine - people who bring expertise, creativity, and passion to everything they do.
Through their efforts, I hope to set the tone for what you can expect in the future:
Incredible stories, inspiring projects, and an inclusive space for everyone who shares our love of
cars.
