Shopping
Central Kingston is a busy retail centre. Shopping is well
catered for with a good mixture of familiar High Street
chains and more select boutiques. The shopping centre
includes a shopping mall, containing major department
stores and other upmarket chain stores.
Market Town
Kingston is traditionally a market town and there are stalls
and events throughout the week in the busy market square
at the heart of the town.
University Town
Kingston is a lively university town and is the location of
Kingston University and Kingston College. There are 34
Primary schools (including Infant and Junior), of which 14
are Church Schools, 10 Secondary Schools and 14 Private
schools which provide education for all age ranges.
Culture and Entertainment
There is much to see and do in Kingston and the
surrounding areas. The Rose Theatre which opened in 2008
seats about 900 people. There are many pubs and
restaurants, a large cinema complex, bowling alley and
many sporting facilities.
Efficient Transport
Kingston is connected to London via the A3 road and is just
10 miles from Charing Cross in Central London. There are
many bus routes connecting the town and trains from
Kingston station and Norbiton station (next to Kingston
Hospital) will take you to London Waterloo in 30 minutes!
