History of DENCON
The Dencon Group of Companies was founded in 1939 by Samuel
Sullam. No one knew back then, 80 years later, the company would
still have a Sullam at the helm. Or that the same company would
have expanded with multiple own brands and supply over 10,000
products nationwide.
A humble beginning selling lighting and fancy gifts helped provide
the capital to develop the business in the City of London. This in
turn helped pave the way for production of a wider range of
electrical accessories, including British made fuses from our own
factory in Sittingbourne, Kent. Using the workforce available, we
were able to meet a growing demand from our customers for a
wide range of products including bespoke packaging.
Since then, at Dencon, we have always tried
to maintain that vision, putting our
customer’s needs first and embracing
advances in technology. As seen today in our
range of TUV GS certified range of LED
lamps, now at the top of their market in
energy efficiency and performance.
At our Harlow based headquarters, we have
maintained our bespoke packaging service,
having invested in state of the art bagging
machines that offer our customers, modern
day and retail ready, packaging solutions.
Our brands, within the Dencon Group of
Companies, have an excellent reputation in the
industry and will continue to focus on quality
and fully certified products.
Today, you can still catch us at Trade Shows
and Exhibitions. However our stand is
now a far cry from the super retro and
super posh looking wooden stand used
in the 1960’s.
So, as our journey moves on with our
new catalogue, we remain
independent and British owned. With
our hard working team and loyal
customers, we look forward to
building on what is already a great
British success story.
