My favorite NPO that DNF supports is Explore Foundation, whose
mission is to empower educators to extend learning beyond the
classroom through field trips and learning experiences. As a parent to two
elementary aged students and a family who loves to explore and expose
our children to new and diverse experiences, my hope is that my children
and all children can have this opportunity through their education
experience. Many school districts have tight budgets and sometimes field
trips are the first things to go. The Explore Foundation is working hard to
make sure that is not the case for the schools and educators they support.

The NPO that has touched me the most is Every Kid Swims, the first
non-profit I had the opportunity to work with as a member of the DNF
team, and their mission that means much to me. Many are not aware that
drowning is the #1 cause of death for children ages 1–19. Sadly, two of my
friends have lost children in separate drowning accidents. Education and
prevention are the key to protecting children, but Every Kid Swims goes
beyond swimming lessons—they leverage the therapeutic power of water
to save and empower lives with therapy and mentoring. To date, our inkind donations have helped them raise over $66,000.

SeriousFun provides a camp experience that is a barrier-free, fullyaccessible medical camp serving children with significant health challenges
and their families, all at no charge to them. In 2022, I volunteered at a
camp for children experiencing or dealing with Transplant, Cardiology,
and Epilepsy/Neuro-Oncology challenges. I went in thinking that I
might teach the kids something, but left having learned and gained so
much. The experience the camps provide these kids is unmatched—no
matter where you come from or what you have been through, you
are welcomed with open arms. I would encourage anyone to go and
volunteer, and you will gain an entirely new perspective on life.
