Intersession
Have you ever imagined building an underwater robot, developing culinary skills working with local
restaurants and bakeries, spinning pottery to support food insecurities in our community, developing
essential wilderness survival skills, sleuthing through a mock crime scene, or scrubbing in on a reallife surgery? Perhaps exploring different cultures or understanding how historical events shaped our
world interests you. In our life-changing travel programs, students connect with local conservation
organizations in Costa Rica, walk in the footsteps of some of our country’s most influential Civil Rights
leaders throughout the South, or explore the culture, history, and language of Spain or France.
During our two-week Intersession program in January, these immersive learning experiences are
possible. Students navigate the complex landscape of creative problem solving in a variety of settings.
Intersession courses and internships allow students to develop
passions outside of the walls of our classrooms. Exposure to new skills,
different cultures, career options, and learning from experts in the
community are valuable resources in our globally interconnected and
rapidly changing world.
