The Diplomatic Press Attachés’ Association of London (DPAAL) was set up in 2008 as an association by and for press attachés working
in diplomatic missions in London. Membership is free and members include both diplomats and locally-engaged staff currently working
in the field of communications. The Board of DPAAL is elected every 18 months, and new members are always welcome!
The objective at DPAAL is to support, inform and connect both newly-arrived and more experienced press attachés with a rolling
programme of stimulating and useful events, including inductions, media outreach, networking events and learning opportunities.
DPAAL encourages its members to collaborate and share ideas, contacts and best practices in communications and public affairs, and
warmly welcome active engagement and proposals to work together.
DPAAL’s ‘Meet the Editor’ series is a programme of online and in-person events launched in 2021 with leading voices of the UK and
international London-based media community. This series sees key political, foreign affairs, diplomatic, financial, environment and
tech editors engage with DPAAL members, sharing their experience, discussing the hot topics of the international political agenda,
and networking in person.
