would be expected after the project lead has considered the points set out in
this section with the client.

From the worked example in Figure 6.3, the following points can be gleaned:
•The client adviser (at Stage 0) and project lead (at Stage 1) have already been
appointed and are therefore named, along with the client, in the list
accompanying the table.
•A RIBA Client Adviser was appointed for Stage 0 to assist in the strategic
definition of the project and advise on the preparation of the Initial Project
Brief during Stage 1 and is allocated the architect’s role for these stages.
•Single-stage design and build was determined as the procurement route and
the contractor will therefore be involved from the commencement of Stage 4.
•An architectural practice is to be appointed from Stage 2 onwards and will
also carry out the lead designer role.
•The project lead and health and safety adviser roles are to be aggregated
and will be carried out by a project management company.
• The cost consultant will also be undertaking the contract administrator role.
