REMEMBERING DEMON
TWEEKS FOUNDER,
ALAN MINSHAW
Alan Minshaw, founder of Demon Tweeks, left a legacy
that extended far beyond the company he built. Known for
his bold personality, Alan had a wicked sense of humour,
he thrived on stirring things up, both in conversation and
on the race track.
Alan’s love for motorsport saw him compete in a variety
of race cars throughout his career. From BMWs and
Volkswagens to more exotic models like the Maserati
Tipo 61, Chevron B8, and Jaguar E-Type, Alan’s passion
for racing was clear in the sheer range of cars he
piloted. He even found success in the British Touring Car
Championship, winning his class in 1983.
But his true innovation was founding Demon Tweeks
in 1971, a company that became a lifeline for racers,
providing them with everything they needed in one place.
What started as a small venture grew into an industry
leader, and it remains at the forefront of motorsport retail
today, run by his son Jon.
Though Alan was known for his sharp wit and daring
spirit, those closest to him will remember his love
for motorsport and the impact he had on everyone he
encountered. His passion, both on and off the track, will
continue to inspire future generations.
