according to a 2024
study by researchers at
the Harvard T.H. Chan
School of Public Health.
The scientists
analyzed data from
previous studies
involving more than
90,000 participants who
were followed over 28
years. They found that,
regardless of overall
diet quality, people
who consumed more
than 7 grams of olive
oil a day (equivalent to
about half a tablespoon)
had a 28% lower risk
of dying of Dementia
compared with those
who never or rarely
consumed olive oil.
The researchers
speculate that olive oil
may play a protective
role for the brain
because it’s rich in
monounsaturated
fats and antioxidant
compounds.
