Welcome to
Better Brain Nation
Welcome to BBN!
Dementia Society of
America created this
magazine, provided at no
cost to our supporters,
partners, and friends. Since our
founding, our nonprofit mission has
been to raise Dementia awareness
and educate the public about
Dementia; provide care planning
information and resources; fund
research; and support and recognize
life-enrichment programming and
innovation. However, it became
evident early on that those we
serve wanted us also to cover
the topic that’s the opposite of
brain disease — brain health.
The seed was planted, and brain
health education blossomed within
our mission. Next, we wanted
to share the bigger story about
how people can impact their own
brain health. We wanted to tip
our hat to the ongoing efforts of
scientists worldwide who have led
to new understandings of how brain
health happens. Yes, your genes
and environment have an impact,
but in the end, YOU can make a
difference through your actions.
