Strawberries Are
Brain Food, Too

to berries
and brain health,
blueberries tend to
get all the attention.
Anthocyanins, the
compounds that give
blueberries their
vibrant color, are
powerful antioxidants
that are thought to

But anthocyanins
are also found in other
fruits and vegetables,
including strawberries,
and a 2023 study
by researchers at
the University of
Cincinnati revealed

that daily strawberry
consumption may
help reduce the risk
of Dementia in people
who have a higher
risk of developing it.
The 12-week study
involved 30 people
between ages 50
and 65 who had mild
cognitive decline.
At the end of the
12 weeks, the
researchers found
that the group who
consumed a daily
supplement powder
equivalent to one
cup of strawberries
performed better on
cognitive tests than
the placebo group.
