Welcome to
Better Brain Nation
Welcome to BBN!
Dementia Society
of America is behind
this publication. Yet the
question may arise: Why?
Since our founding, our nonprofit
mission has been to raise Dementia
awareness and educate the public
about Dementia; provide care
planning information and resources;
fund research; and support
and recognize life-enrichment
programming and innovation.
However, it became self-evident
early on that those we serve wanted
us to cover the topic that's opposite
of brain disease — brain health.
The seed was planted, and brain
health education blossomed within
our mission. Next, we wanted to
share the bigger story about how
individuals can impact their own
brain health. We wanted to tip
our hat to the ongoing efforts of
scientists worldwide that have led
to new understandings of how brain
health happens. Yes, genetics,
environment, and other factors play
roles, but in the end, it's pretty clear
YOU can have a major impact.
