Positive progress
The Safety and Violence
Initiative (SaVI) showed
positive progress in terms
of new research initiatives,
particularly those to do with
ex-combatants and violence
reduction, organised nonstate violence, violence
against women and children,
attitudes to sexual violence,
the nature of youth gang
violence, and the relationship
between substance abuse
