Teaching
models.
Our Teaching and Learning programme will be based on the level of
risk currently determined by the local authorities, following the four
levels/Traffic Light structure.
Here are the possible Learning Models for the School Year 2021/22
depending on the evolution of the COVID-19 in Austria and the
instructions received from the Austrian authorities.
PLAN A: REGULAR SCHEDULE/ ON-SITE LEARNING
This plan is only possible if there are no government or other restrictions
on our ability to operate the School, and will be dictated by the Traffic
Light structure and the status of the COVID-19 in Austria.
PLAN B: ADAPTED SCHEDULE/ ON-SITE AND ONLINE LEARNING
This approach may be required if the government mandates closures
or occupancy restrictions and only a portion of our students are
allowed on campus at one time. Using a variety of methods (e.g.
technology, sending materials home), students in class and at home
can participate in the programme. The strategy here is to alternate
between in-person and distance learning as needed, hopefully for
limited periods of time, with only those affected.
Another example for an adapted schedule is, if there is a positive
COVID case within a class, the students who were in close proximity to
the individual would be moved to distance learning for a quarantine
period and until those impacted are tested, symptom-free, and able
to return to school. Only the impacted class(es) or students would be
temporarily moved to distance learning, while the rest of the school
would continue with on site learning.
PLAN C: DISTANCE LEARNING/ ONLINE LEARNING
If the School will be instructed by the Government to fully shut down
due to a high risk of infection, we will implement a redeveloped
Distance Learning programme. Using parent, student, and teacher
feedback as our guide, we will continue to teach our students via the
model we launched last year, exploring new lesson formats, finding
ways for small student groups to collaborate, reviewing and perfecting
the accountability and assessment models, and sourcing technology
tools to serve every student.
