National Show 2025
Welcome
On behalf of the National Show Committee, a very warm welcome to the British Alpaca Society
National Show 2025 – The British Alpaca Society’s flagship alpaca event of the year. We are
delighted to welcome over 510 alpacas from 69 exhibitors distributed throughout the UK.
We thank our judges, Molly Gardner (Halter), Peter Kennedy-Gane (Halter), Roger Clarke
(Fleece), and Val Fullerlove (Fibre Zone), in anticipation of an exciting event, which will be shown
live on the big screen in the hall and on YouTube.
The Champion of Champions fleece show was judged in February with the fleeces on display at
the show. We would like to thank all the breeders who have supported this event. This year the
Fleece Show is located alongside the Fibre Zone, on the balcony, and all prize-winning fleeces are
on display throughout the show. Huge thanks go to the Julia Corrigan-Stuart for organising and
hosting the Fleece Show and for displaying the winning fleeces.
Once again, the Fibre Zone will showcase the versatility of alpaca and how the demand for raw
and value-added product made from the luxurious alpaca fleece can be met. The Fibre Zone
competitions include fashion and homeware classes, which together with the yarn, toy, and
fabric sections, will be judged by Val Fullerlove.
The World of Alpacas, in the Annex, is designed to give an immersive and interactive alpaca
experience as well as being educational. A good place to go for people who are not BAS members
especially if they have their children with them.
The Halter Show is the centre piece for the event, and we hope you enjoy exhibiting and watching
at our new Staffordshire venue. The two rings will operate in tandem for most of the show. Molly
and Peter will be working hard for the whole weekend, and we thank them in advance for their
efforts.
The National Show exists because of the support it receives from you all; the volunteers who give
up a tremendous amount of time to ensure the show is a success, the sponsors, including those
who donate and purchase stud services, and of course the exhibitors, without whom a show of this
calibre would be impossible. The wide variety of trade and craft stands whom we rely on so much
to complete the alpaca experience and the local, national, and international visitors - we thank you
all.
We hope you enjoy a weekend of non-stop alpaca at its absolute best!
