WHY CLOUD-BASED?
MATTTEO consciously chose to make the standard IRIS
Suite solutions cloud-based. The cloud offers significant
advantages in installation, maintenance and updating.
This results in a lower price and allows MATTTEO to
monitor the system constantly. Working in the cloud
enables us to offer you a license fee with the maintenance contract included.
BACK-UP
In the unlikely event of system problems (e.g. network
problems), you can continue working with hand scanners (barcode or RFID scanners). To support both back
up scenarios, we can print barcodes on our RFID
labels.
KANBAN
KANBAN is a two bin storage method used to manage
the logistics chain. It was designed by Taiichi Ohno,
engineer at Toyota, who was looking for a system to
improve manufacturing efficiency through just in time
deliveries.
KANBAN uses visual indicators to show when something
is needed. A well implemented KANBAN system improves the logistic process because it enables JIT deliveries,
avoids stock shortages and automatically creates a FIFO
system (first in, first out).
TOPPING UP
TOPPING UP is a single bin storage method where an
order is generated when the minimum stock level is
reached. The product will then be resupplied until maximum stock level.
The articles that were still in the bin, are put on top
of the newly supplied products to maintain the FIFO
principle. Both KANBAN and TOPPING UP are supported
by IRIS i-ROOM.
