TRANSITION AND JOINTING BETWEEN FIRE,
FIRE-LEAD FRAME AND BUILDING FABRIC
F I R E C A B I N ETS
The cabinet is installed into the cut-out of a fire retardant wall with a distance of 10 to 20 mm between
the frame and wall. The walls vertical tolerance is max
+/- 1 mm per running metre valid for the cut-out and
exterior wall.
The gaps between the frame and wall are filled with
rock wool compressed to a density equivalent to the use
of 3 m rock wool strip, 60x20 mm per running metre for
a 10 mm wide joint. In the event of any chipping of the
plinth or frame, this must be completed as described
above.
If a situation arises where due to the construction it is
not possible to fill adequately with rock wool a fire-resistant joint can be used to compensate. For example
SABA, Sabaprotect M5000 joint filler. Please refer to the
manufacturers datasheets.
