CaseGreen Warehouse VisionBuilding in line with our Green Warehouse Visionmeans, among other things, that:• The building features a NOXOUT roof, which minimises airpollution by breaking down the NOx particles emitted fromcars and trucks. The sun’s UV radiation then converts the NOxparticles into nitrate, which is washed out when it rains.• The roof is white rather than the usual black. Consequently, theroof does not heat up as much when the sun shines, reducingthe warehouse’s total energy consumption during the sunny, hot summer months.• The energy used is 100% green.• The building is insulated with carbon-neutral insulation.• Moreover, the insulation is twice as effective as standard insulation.• All beams and panels are made from steel, of which a highproportion is recycled.• Rainwater is recycled for truck washes, toilets and cleaning.21CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENT• Steel panels with carbon-neutral insulation on the outerwalls are used instead of concrete elements.EnvironmentWhen Frode Laursen builds new facilities according to our GreenWarehouse Vision, we want to minimise our impact on the climateand the environment during the construction phase and in the running of the logistics centre. A large proportion of the CO2e emissionsfrom our logistics centres stems from their construction. We alwaysprefer to renovate rather than build new, and if we build new, we doso according to our Green Warehouse Vision. All future buildings willbe certified according to the DGNB System or BREEAM.
