Supporting Community Growth
CSAA’s Community Investments
Program (CIP) invests in low-income
and underserved communities
by investing in projects that are
responsive to community needs,
qualify as green investments, and
have a significant positive impact
on the economic welfare of the
community. The CIP operates with
a Board of Directors-approved
allocation of 1% of investments.
We committed an

We committed an additional
$28M toward low-income housing
developments across the U.S.
through partnerships with other
insurance companies and banking
institutions. This investment
supports widespread increases in
low-income housing in several parts
of Northern California impacted
by wildfires, Maricopa County, AZ.,
and several other states and U.S.
territories. CSAA representatives
attended the groundbreaking for the
redevelopment of the Gloria Drive
apartments in Sacramento, CA, to
directly observe the impact of our
funding on the communities we serve.
At the Gloria Drive groundbreaking,
CSAA’s commitments were
recognized by Fiona Ma, California
State Treasurer, who administers
the program that promotes private
investments in affordable housing.
CSAA is a longstanding member of the Purchaser Business Group on Health
(PBGH), a nonprofit coalition representing nearly 40 private employers and
public entities across the U.S. that purchase healthcare services for more
than 21 million Americans and their families. PBGH has a 30-year track record
of incubating and scaling new, disruptive operational programs that lower
healthcare costs and increase quality across the U.S.
In advancing our core beliefs and work toward quality, affordable and accessible
healthcare, CSAA has donated to PBGH to support programs designed to
reduce wasteful healthcare spending and improve the healthcare quality and
experience of employees, specifically:
Affordability by redirecting existing healthcare spend to high-quality,
equitable and evidence-based care while holding total cost flat
Health by redirecting purchasing to support whole-person health
(the full spectrum of medical, behavioral, and socioeconomic needs)
and create accountability for health and well-being outcomes
Equity by eliminating disparities in care delivery and
in health outcomes
