Front cover shows the First Christmas Card of 1843
The first Christmas card was commissioned in 1843 by Sir Henry Cole (18081882), the same publication year of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
Due to its popularity, the card sales quickly exceeded the initial print of
1,000, and more were printed to meet demand.
