VE Day - 80th Anniversary Film Night
6 May, 7pm, Village Hall
Phillip Day, author, researcher and screenwriter, is returning to show his
latest film of another local, spectacular and inspiring wartime story. 'Before
the Few', his third film under the banner 8Fields and Their Secrets9, is about
the true experiences of two brave fighter pilots in the early part of WWII.
His films 8V For Vengeance9 and 8September Skies9 were shown here
previously and thoroughly enjoyed. Phillip shows his films free-of-charge
in villages around Kent, with the villages accepting donations for local
causes. As he has done previously, he would like to help towards our
Church9s maintenance costs, increasing annually. The film will start at
7.00pm (doors open at 6.30pm) and last about an hour and a half with a
20-minute interval. We will have a cash bar on the evening also. If you
would like to come, please reserve tickets by calling on 01959 564370, or
email tonycanrogers@gmail.com.The suggested donation is £10 per head
made online to Holy Trinity9s bank account (sort code 40-52-40, account
number 00014196). Please use as a reference your initial and surname
followed by the word 8Film9 (e.g. 8TRogers Film9). Alternatively, cash or card
on the door.

Lighting the Beacon on V.E. Day
8 May, 9.30pm
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (V.E.) Day, beacons
will be lit nationwide at 9.30pm on 8 May.
All are welcome at that time to attend the lighting of Crockham Hill9s
beacon, at the top of the field above the village hall.
From there the lighting of other beacons may be seen, where others too
will be paying their respects to those who never returned
