WTC support, KCC turned it down as cost prohibitive; but it may be reconsidered when the road is resurfaced.
4. Entering from Pootings, move the 30mph sign down the hill, making it
more visible and giving time for cars time to slow before the upcoming
driveways where the road narrows.
Despite our pleas, KCC has concluded there is not a speeding issue on Spout
Lane. We feel their data is distorted by the number of black boxes fitted to
vehicles which would otherwise exceed the speed limit, as others certainly
do. WTC are awaiting KCC9s response to our signage suggestion. The 8Speed
Watch9 will be resumed on Main Road but the 30mph speed limit will not
be reduced. However, a 820mph Advisory9 may be added to the flashing
school sign during school hours.
KCC9s Nick Chard (County Cllr Representative) and Neil Baker (Cabinet
Member for Highways and Lighting) only advice was to continue sharing
our concerns. We are now considering involving our MP, Laura Trott.
Importantly, WTC suggest that
everyone in the village report any
traffic incidents to them, however
small. Unless we can provide 8crash
data9, we cannot have cameras or any
other speed calming options. It appears
