and its elevation,
temperatures in
the vineyards often
remain ten degrees
cooler than those on the
valley floor. Furthermore,
evening temperatures
exhibit a subtle warmth,
leading to diminished diurnal
temperature fluctuations.
Mount Veeder claims the
distinction of being the coolest
of Napa Valley’s mountain
appellations, with its grapes
often the last to be harvested.

MOUNT VEEDER
Mount Veeder’s soils primarily
consist of ancient seabed
deposits, thrust upwards five
million years ago during the
mountain’s formation. These
shallow, sedimentary soils,
predominantly sandy loam in
texture, foster lush redwood,
madrone, and conifer forests.
From these challenging,
shallow soils of Mount Veeder
emerge small berries with deep,
concentrated flavors
and structure.
AS
he vineyards of Mount Veeder
grace the rugged slopes of
the southern stretches of the
Mayacamas Mountains. These
vineyards, perched between
500 and 2600 feet in elevation,
typically reside above the veil
of fog.
