Cran昀椀eld Trust’s anniversaryCelebrating 35 years of impact, insight and in昀氀uence in the sectorDuring our anniversary year, welaunched new fundraising activitiesthat helped us to celebrate all thepeople who make our work possibleand raise awareness and vital fundsfor our work.Through our Smart Circle, we have invited philanthropistsand donors to make a signi昀椀cant contribution andcommitment to supporting the UK voluntary sector bysupporting and investing in our work and vision. We havebeen deeply grateful to the people who have joinedus and committed their support to helping charitiesand frontline services to become stronger and moreeffective for their bene昀椀ciaries.The support we have gained through their gifts andcommitments is absolutely critical to sustaining anddeveloping our services for frontline organisations.In addition, we launched our #CharityChallenge35,inviting our volunteers, staff and supporters toundertake sponsored activities to help us generateawareness and more vital funds for our work.Volunteer Paul Kiernan completed a 125-mile trek ofthe South West Coast path, which runs from Minehead,Somerset to Poole, Dorset.“I really enjoy being a Cran昀椀eld Trustvolunteer and I’m also a keen walker so Iwas really pleased to receive a volunteers’email last spring about Cran昀椀eld Trust’s#CharityChallenge35. I’d already plannedto walk 125 miles around the South WestCoastal Path (The Salt Path) in May, so Idecided to combine my personal passionfor walking with raising some vital funds forCran昀椀eld Trust.“This was the 昀椀rst time I had done anythinglike this and taking the 昀椀rst step was bothinspiring and daunting! The walk has been along-time ambition of mine.“I clocked up the miles over nine daysand completed my walking challengesupported by my very patient wife whodrove a motorhome that we’d rented forthe trip – it really was a team endeavour.“I’m really inspired by how Cran昀椀eld Trustworks to bring together people withprofessional skills with charities needingadvice. I’m thrilled to be part of it andenjoying my 昀椀rst volunteer engagement.And I’m incredibly pleased to have alreadyraised almost £700, whilst also helping toboost the Trust’s pro昀椀le.”Paul Kiernan, Cran昀椀eld Trust VolunteerCran昀椀eld Trust’s staff and volunteers completed otherchallenges. This included a 35+ mile walk in the TestValley in Hampshire over four weekends during thesummer, raising over £2,000 for the Trust, and furtheractivities – sponsored poetry readings and a sewingchallenge - have been organised for 2024-25.42
