Theory 9 Rising Kings Basketball Uniforms
On December 22, 2022, Theory 9 contacted
the Foundation because their partner
could not provide the toys promised for
children in less fortunate communities.
CPR Foundation immediately rose to the
occasion. "This toy drive allowed us to
spread holiday cheer. Seeing the whole
community come together in two days to
help Theory 9 provide over 400 toys to
underprivileged families was extremely
rewarding,” stated Glenn Hechler, CPR
Foundation executive board member. The
event included pictures with Santa, holiday
snacks, raffles, toys, and dancing with
policemen.
The Foundation and its members remain
committed to doing what is feasible to
brighten the holiday season for needy
families in numerous communities, from
New York City and Miami to Chicago and
Los Angeles.
In February, we continued to support
Theory 9 by sponsoring the purchase of
team basketball jerseys. We kicked off the
season with a media day that included
staff, local community leaders and police
officers. Our very own Glenn Hechler
attended to distribute the team jerseys.
"We are blessed to have a partnership
with CPR Foundation! Thank you for
helping us look clean on the court and
launching our first official AAU season.
The Foundation sponsored HEVN 16th Annual Appreciation
Banquet in Hempstead, NY
Our CPR Foundation members
were able to supply uniforms for
our four traveling teams. Looking
forward to elevating the program
alongside
CPR
Foundation,”
stated Shakir Seagers, Director of
Theory 9.
Theory 9 hosts many holiday
events, basketball tournaments,
and school drives for the
Kingsbridge neighborhood in The
Bronx. The Rising Kings & Queens
AAU basketball program is
competitive, and participants
must try out to be placed on a
team. Teams compete locally,
regionally, and nationally. There
is one team for each grade level
from middle school to 11th grade.
On April 18, the Foundation was a sponsor at the annual HEVN (Helping End Violence
Now) banquet attended by more than 130 community leaders, residents, and police
officers. Our members Al Eskanazy, Glenn Hechler, and Justin Aronoff were in
attendance.
At the banquet, they honored the following community leaders: Pastor Kurt Schwartz,
Former Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen, The Honorable Jerald S. Carter,
Former Deputy Speaker Earlene Hooper, Superintendent Dr. Deborah Wortham, and
Nassau County Community Affairs Officer Daniel Capellan, Peter Florey, James Hodge,
Former Undersheriff Vera Fludd and Deborah Lewis, Lady Dianne Deans, Bethlehem of
Judea, Chaplain Rhonda Cole, Lady Jacqueline D. Burgess, Grace Community Church
and Rosemary Hart-Dennis.
HEVN is an organization seeking to help end violence in our communities, and guide families and individuals in need with
helpful resources.
