CPR Foundation Sponsors R.A.D. Systems Women’s Self Defense Course
The CPR Foundation partnered with the City of Miami Police Department and Citizen's Crime Watch of
Miami-Dade to introduce the RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Systems' Self-Defense course.
This 12-hour, 3-day self-defense program for women included lectures, discussions, and physical strategies
that provide a practical approach to self-defense education.
On average, there are 321,500 victims of "rape and sexual assault" each year in the United States. 9 out of
10 of those victims are women.
CPR Foundation Donates Jerseys to Dillard High School Football Team
The Dillard High School football team, located in
Broward County, revealed their new jerseys during
their senior night football game against their local
rivals, Plantation High School. As the players
emerged from the locker room, the crowd cheered
and applauded as the announcer announced that
Dillard was wearing their new team uniforms, which
were generously co-sponsored by the CommunityPolice Relations Foundation. Chief Raleigh Flowers,
Jr. (of the Bal Harbor Police Department) brought
the need for new jerseys to the CPR Foundation's
attention.
The new team uniforms boosted morale among the
players and impressed the crowd, helping the team
to secure a spot in the division playoffs with a
victorious performance that evening. The CPR
Foundation's generosity has helped to strengthen
the relationships between police and youth in a
community where these relationships have been
difficult. In addition to helping provide the team
with new uniforms, the Foundation has also been
supplying them with hot pre-game meals throughout
the season. "The CPR Foundation's dedication to
promoting
and
maintaining
positive
police
relationships within our communities has opened up
new ways for officers to engage with our youth.
CPR's model should serve as a blueprint for other
cities across the US. Thank you for investing in our
communities," said Chief Raleigh Flowers, Jr.
