Careers Fairs
Leiths attended Oldmachar Academy Careers Fair in September which had
an exceptional turnout of both pupils and parents. Many thanks to Sophie
Moore, Apprentice Fabricator/Welder who assisted at the event and was able
to pass on her experience.
We also attended Bridge of Don Academy on 2 October and were pleased to
hear that many of the pupils who attended on the night had engineering in
their sights as a chosen career path.
Leiths have a full calendar of Careers Fairs and we will be sure to update you
in future issues of Leiths News of further events attended.
The HR Team take this opportunity to thank the Operations team for supporting
and attending at these events, sometimes after a long day at work!
John Anderson, Concrete Production Manager, with the students from
CECA Scotland Academy
In October we welcomed 9 students and 2 lecturers from CECA
Scotland Academy to our Midlairgs Quarry near Inverness. This quarry
provides a wide range of products such as Asphalt, Ready Mix Concrete
(including blocks) and Sand and Gravel.
The students were given a full tour of the site and were in awe at
the size of the Quarry and the volume of different products that we
produce, despite it being a very wet and cold autumn day. We hope
this interaction will encourage the younger generation to look at their
future careers within the construction industry.
