The process was beyond beautiful. Seasoned
maestros would play a simple song nine to ten
times, lost in their worlds of memories and
emotions. Each one had ideas on how to make
it “just perfect” as they heard it. I knew we
had succeeded when Kavi, after hearing
all the recordings, forbade me to sing them
a cappella.
Ammu’s Treasures is an omnibus of 35
songs and 21 chants. Defying traditional
norms of releasing an album, I have chosen
to share all the music as one giant treasury. Why? I believe
we need to fill our children with all kinds of music – in many
languages, genres, and musical complexity. The fertile fetal
brains that flower to strains of Mozart in the womb, are more
than ready to expand beyond ABCs and Baby Shark. More is
indeed More.
