MANNINGTREE LIFE
Our Brand Ambassador:
A design interview
with George Clarke
Architect. Television presenter. Campaigner. Educator. He is best
known for his work on the Channel 4 Programmes, The Home Show,
George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, George Clarke’s Old House, New Home,
and The Restoration Man.
Passionate about breathing new life into historic properties, creating new
communities, and re-imagining outdoor spaces, George has been working
as brand ambassador for City & Country for more than 10 years. We spoke
to George who shared his thoughts about Manningtree Park.
Increasingly, people are seeking to connect
with nature and their surroundings in new
ways. Can you talk us through some of the
countryside highlights in this area?
George said: Manningtree Park is surrounded
by beautiful green spaces and nature…what is
not to love? On your doorstep there are lush
meadows and an Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty as well as a stunning coastline. Every
time I visit this development, I feel like you are
at one with nature and history. There is a good
reason why this is known as Constable Country!
Location, location, location. How would you
describe Manningtree Park’s position?
As we know, location is everything. I love
the fact that Manningtree Park is so close
to the picturesque and thriving villages of
Mistley and Lawford and obviously it is close
to Manningtree too. To be able to travel from
Manningtree Station to London’s Liverpool
Street Station in 55 minutes is pretty incredible.

And if you want to travel overseas it is not
difficult to travel from Manningtree Park to
Stansted or Southend Airport. Geographically,
if you choose to live in the new development
you are very well connected.
Craftsmanship is at the heart of all our
developments. Can you shine a spotlight on a
few examples in our Manningtree Park homes?
I have to say I’m really impressed by the
quality of the craftsmanship at Manningtree.
It is not always easy to design and build
homes that suit modern ways of living, but
also respect the history and derailing of local
traditional architecture.
It is a difficult balance to strike, but they're
managing to achieve it so well with the newbuild homes across the development, seen in
those already built and in the designs of those
yet to come.
