AQUATICS — Pre-Registration Required
LEARN TO SWIM
Sessions consist of eight, 30-minute classes with one day
focusing on basic water safety skills. Children should be
able to perform all skills of the previous level before moving
on to a higher level. Instructors may move children to a
different level class if the child is unable to participate in
the skill level of the registered class. Please contact the
Aquatics Supervisor if health conditions warrant additional
accommodation for participation.
Resident Fee: $85; Non-Resident Fee: $100
Infant/Toddler – Requirements: Ages
6-36 months, Parent/guardian accompanies child in water. Skills: This course
is designed to teach the parents the
skills and techniques to encourage and
develop a comfort level for young children in and around the water. Classes
will include guided instructional teaching, as well as individual parent and
child water exploration.
Preschool 1 – Requirements: Ages 3-5
years old. Skills: Designed to teach water
safety and introduction to basic swimming skills. This includes submerging,
floating, kicking, bobbing, using their
arms on both the stomach and back.
Preschool 2 – Requirements: Ages 3-5
years old. Must have successfully completed the skills for Preschool 1. Must be
able to fully submerge their heads and
are comfortable with the water. Skills:
This course works on floating and introduces combined stroke (arms/legs) on
both the stomach and back.

Preschool 3 – Requirements: Ages 3-5
years old. Must have successfully completed Preschool 2 skills. Must be comfortable with underwater swimming,
able to float unsupported, and swim by
themselves for 10 yards on both their
stomach and back. Skills: This course
will continue with combined stroke
on stomach and back, introduction
of elementary back stroke, and deepwater skills.
Level 1 – Requirements: Ages 6-12.
Skills: Designed for non-swimmers.
Intro to water safety and basic swimming skills. Includes submerging, floating, kicking, bobbing, and alternate arm
action.
Level 2 – Requirements: Must have
successfully completed Level 1 skills.
Must be able to fully submerge their
head and be comfortable with water.
Skills: Course works on floating and
introduces combined stroke (arms/legs)
on both the stomach and back.
Level 3 – Requirements: Must have
successfully completed the skills for
Level 2 or Preschool 3. Must be comfortable with underwater swimming, able
to float, and swim 15 yards on stomach
and back. Skills: Class builds on acquired
combined stroke on stomach and back.
Adds deep water skills, elementary
backstroke, and beginning diving skills.
Level 4 – Requirements: Must have
successfully completed Level 3 skills.
Must be able to swim 25 yards (one
length of pool) of front crawl and back
crawl. Skills: Refine technique of previous skills. Front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke are emphasized. Also improve
diving from a standing position.
Teen/Adult – Designed for age 13+. All
swimming levels are welcome. Classes
are designed to help achieve a personal
swimming goals whether it be learning to swim or perfecting stroke form,
or anything inbetween. Teen/Adult
Classes will last one hour instead of
thirty minutes.”
Aquatic Fitness
Aqua Circuit
Program consists of six 45-minute aqua-fitness classes utilizing a
wide variety of aqua fitness equipment. Classes will take place in
both deep and shallow water, but participants are not required to
be able to swim in order to participate.
Resident Fee: $110; Non-Resident: $120
