Reading enjoyment
Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s
future success – more than their family circumstances, their
parents’ educational background, or their income.* Over the
course of the school year, teachers and volunteers reported that
their pupils showed signs of increased reading enjoyment as a
result of being on the Chapter One programme.
